How this all got stitched together....

When you grow up in the bush of Alaska, you learn how to tell a story.  I love to tell stories with cloth, paint and humor.

After growing up in Alaska, I moved to the lower 48, (Washington ) and studied art at the NW College of Arts and Olympic College. I’ve always surrounded myself with gardens, forests and mountains because they ground and inspire me; sculptural painting for years, fusing dirt and fabric into my nature-inspired works.

My love of the old crafts and slow arts such as quilting has been merging with my mixed-media background. Take a close look at my work and you’ll discover surprises that together weave a whimsical story or deeply woven family memories. Vintage fabrics and notions bring their own background and inspirations to my pieces.

Thanks to the encouragement and faith of my

wildly supportive family and a handful

of powerful women (you know who you are),

these stories are revealing themselves to me

as fast as I can stitch them.

Have a beautiful day!
